Rise to fame through social media

Individuals have now come to the realisation  the power of social media. Over the past number of years the world has seen a rise of a new generation. This generation are becoming famous through social media.


From the most famous individual who has become a phenomenal artist over both Atlantic's.  Justin Bieber was a 15 year old Canadian singer; who was discovered on YouTube and signed by Usher. Justin reached the most views of his song 'baby' 500,000,000 which was the highest in YouTube history in July 2010.

Other individuals have followed Justin with his YouTube success such as Maria Argon who A 10-year-old Filipino-Canadian singer who became popular after Lady Gaga posted a link to her piano cover of "Born This Way" in her Twitter page. Lady Gaga wrote "Can’t stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future." In Toronto 2011 Gaga and Argon got to perform together at  The latter's Monster Ball tour.  Aragon also got to  perform for and with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.




Other people such as Rebecca Flint who is a British teenager who is now known as Beckii Cruel; created a a dance called danjo has now become a phenomenal artist in Japan. She got a record deal with Tokuma Japan Communications. However, as much as social media can make one famous it can also have a negative affect. Rebecca Black who became famous after  uploading a video of her song 'Friday'; received more than 167 million viewer which slated the record and said it to be one of the worst songs created.
